Characterised by educational excellence, we guide and nurture children, and instil values of respect, tolerance and positivity for the diverse values, cultures and beliefs, which form part of the school community.

Education for life

At Glenridge Pre-Primary, we believe that learning begins with joy, curiosity and discovery. Founded in 1950, our English-medium, multi-denominational school in Manor Gardens, Durban, provides a nurturing, play-based education for children aged 2 to 6 years (Grade R). Our philosophy, Education is for Life, guides everything we do – inspiring a lifelong love of learning built on respect, tolerance and positivity.

Loved by families

A trusted
legacy

We are not just a school, we are a family! Founded in 1950, Glenridge Pre-Primary is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s oldest and most established independent pre-primary schools. For over 75 years, Glenridge has created a safe and secure environment in which families thrive, and children flourish as happy, confident, curious and creative individuals.

Purpose-built for young learners

Uniquely, Glenridge is one of the only purpose-built preschools in the city, and its facilities are complemented by a large, well-shaded, garden play area. This practical and functional space provides a welcoming and stimulating environment, perfectly meeting the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of young children.

Educational
excellence

As a proud member of ISASA (Independent Schools Association of South Africa), we are committed to quality education, with all of our teachers holding professional qualifications in foundation phase education.

We are committed to child-centered education that allows children to learn through play and exploration, and our CAPS-aligned curriculum provides a solid foundation for a smooth transition to “big school”.

Environment awareness

As a proud member of WESSA (Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa), our school is deeply committed to nurturing environmentally responsible learners. Environmental education is an integral part of our curriculum, equipping our students with the knowledge and values needed to care for the world around them.

We place strong emphasis on teaching children the importance of recycling, conservation, and respecting the environment. By fostering these habits from a young age, we aim to inspire a lifelong sense of responsibility and stewardship for our planet.
